Blignaut’s violation of graves case postponed

Mr Petrus Blignaut who is facing a violation of graves charge will appear in the Perdekop Magistrate’s Court on 20 June.

His case was postponed when he appeared in court on 4 April.

Mr Blignaut allegedly dug up graves that belong to relatives of the residents who stay on his farm.

According to the community, they tried to stop him, but were unsuccessful.

The police said some of the remains were clearly visible.

According to the police, the suspect said he did it for cultivation purposes.

Mr Blignaut was arrested and later released on R500 bail.

Const Gugu Mahlangu of the Perdekop Detectives is investigating the case.
