Khula-Sakhile says no to abuse

Learners chant no more abuse.

The learners of Khula-Sakhile High School took to the streets on 2 June to say no to abuse, not in their lifetime.

Mr Tholumusa Malinga, a teacher, organised the initiative.

”Based on the number of cases that has been reported recently, we have decided on an awareness campaign at the school gate that only took an hour,” Mr Malinga said.

South Africa has experienced a scourge of abuse and all forms of gender-based violence in recent years, with Standerton no exception.

The learners stood outside the gate with their messages from 7am to 8am.

”We want to teach the learners not to be just academics, but also to be upstanding men and women,” Mr Malinga also said.
