Standerton learners gear up for next year

Learners get ready for the challenges that lie ahead next year.

Holy Pressure held a Career Expo at Sakhile Hall on 9 July to offer information to learners who want to study further, but lack the necessary know-how.

The event is held annually during universities’ application time and open to all and free of charge.

All faculties of study were explained to make the right choices and learners were assisted in applying online since some do not have access to the internet.

Other organisation involved were Know Your Worth, Inqubeko Youth Centre and Sakhile Youth Empowerment Centre.

“We want to give our young brothers and sisters the head-start we never had,” Mr Mohau Tsotetsi, chairman of Holy Pressure, said.

Representatives from Eskom, Gert Sibande College, Sasol, the Lekwa traffic department and Rosebank College were also in attendance.

“We thank our sponsors who made this event a success,” Mr Tsotetsi also said.

The sponsors were Debonairs Pizza, Oasis Water, Salute Water, Mr Linda Dhlamini, mayor, and Mr Thomas Tshabalala.

“We would appreciate if more sponsors can help make this initiative an even bigger success in future,” Mr Tsotetsi said.
