Making a small, do-able change to your lifestyle is more likely to contribute to reaching your bigger goals than unrealistic resolutions that will see you giving up before you’ve started.

Warm lemon water improves digestion

The temperature of the water starts the whole process. Warm lemon water supports peristalsis in the bowels, helping to create a bowel movement, eliminating waste and helping with regularity.

Ingredients

1 cup of warm (not boiling) water

1/2 lemon, juiced

1 cm piece of fresh ginger root (optional)

Method

Zest half of the (washed) lemon first and add the zest to the warm water. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze half of the lemon into the water. Peel and slice the ginger root (if using) and add to the water.

And away you go!
