Community members support Lions blood drive

A SANBS nurse helps Ms Barbra Lombard to donate blood.

The Lions Club, in conjunction the South African National Blood Services, held a blood drive at the Monument Centre and the Junxion Centre on 7 April.

Community members were encouraged to donate blood to help save lives for various reasons.

Many people flocked in to do their bit to support the event, some were new donors and others regular donors.

Donors were given surprise gifts after donating blood.

Debonairs Pizza sponsored a free pizza, Wimpy offered a free breakfast and the club a R100 gift.

“Thank you to all who helped to contribute positively to a good cause,” Mr Donovan Henri, president of the Lions Club, said.

“Thank you also to our sponsors, we really appreciate it.”
