Learners and parents, as well as members of the School Governing Body, protested over buses outside the Department of Education’s circuit offices in Standerton on 16 April.

Two memorandums were handed over to the department’s labour relations officers namely Messrs Bheki Mahlango and Mandla Thabethe.

Thoko Ncokonane and Mr Jabulani Maluleka, SGB chairman, read out the respective memorandums from learners and parents.

“The learners have not been to class for six days,” Mr Maluleka said.

They alluded to the fact that they currently have eight buses, needing an additional five to fully accommodate the 928 learners.
