Ext 6 residents up in arms over proposed removal from squatter camps

Residents of Ext 6 in Sakhile opposed a proposal of the Lekwa Municipality on 11 September to move from their squatter camps.

According to them, Mr Dumisani Hadebe of the Department of Human Settlements, informed them that they will be moved to a temporary site, as their current site is under electrical construction.

They said they were moved, as a temporary measure, to that area in 2009 and can not move to another temporary site again.
